Technology Specialist

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum high school diploma; college or technical degree in related field preferred
- Experience with computers and computer operating systems
- Experience working in a school system preferred
REPORTS TO:
Technology Coordinator
JOB PURPOSE:
Under the general direction of the Technology Director, the Technology Specialist will perform a variety of technical duties related to the installation, operation, repair, and support of instructional and management technologies.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical support for all computer hardware and software
-Setup, installation, configuration
-Maintenance and problem-solving
-Ask assistance from other technology specialist and/or director when needed
-Enlist outside technical support as needed following school and county protocol
- Assist as needed in design, management and security issues
-School file server(s)
-Educational/Instructional software
III. Provide training and instruction to staff and students regarding
-Proper use of technology resources
-Safe and appropriate use of technology resources
-County policies and regulations
-Instructional technology resources
-Training and support utilizing best practice to improve technology services
- Maintain records related to computer and network operations
-Operational documentation
-Backup of server(s) and informational data
-Maintain technology inventory
- Competencies:
-Exemplary attendance, punctuality, visibility and reliability
-Establishes proper courses of action to ensure that technology work orders are completed efficiently and in a timely manner, with proper customer update or follow-up
-Maintain clean and organized work area
-Attention to detail
